Nurture Hope

Dear Readers

Here is a story for you all. Hope it will be appreciated.

                                                                 Nurture Hope

“A good effort, friend. Ya try a little bit….yes you can do it.” Aurodip being in the lap of nature was encouraging an insect, trying its level best to climb onto a dry leaf to save itself from the steady flow of the stream . The insect saved itself.

“Wowww…….congrats…..!!! You are just like me. Never give up till you succeed.”

Aurodip was in a pleasant mood. He feels better to ventilate himself in nature’s lap . It was getting dark in the woods. He returned back to his room in the tree house. The emptiness of the room was similar to the loneliness of his heart  . Suddenly his cell phone tune “Maine tere liye hii saatt rang ke sapne chune”- diverted his thoughts. It was a call from   Baba .

”Where are you? Your brothers and sister have visited your quarter and you are in that jungle. What is this?,” said his Baba.

“Ya…am returning tomorrow morning, no need to worry.” said Aurodip with a concerned tone.

“This family relationships really strange…….family, friend, workplace, neighbors’ , blaa blaa……. .” Sitting alone intrigued God –“who is near to me? – ha  ha  haa…… oh God ! You are so clever. Dear God; fact is that – man has come alone to this earth and also will go alone, living behind the footprints in the form of his conduct and deeds. And his attachment with worldly things and other persons is only the Great Maya created by you, ..True.. Isn’t   God . Hmmm….. . But thank you God for always being with me in my difficulties; a.. I have felt Your presence in every awkward and critical situations of  my  struggle  life. Your blissful touch has created a miraculous strength within me.”

Pondering over his struggles takes a sigh and rests his body on the soft bed. Gazing at the ceiling gets lost……with tearful eyes, drops rolling down into ears; as if his soul humming its pain in the ears. Those words still echoes ….. .

”A single peny should not be spend for his career .Aurodip, what will you do with such poor marks in your +2?,”shouted  Aanish  ,elder brother of Aurodip .His father was silent .And Maa spoke the harsh realities of life.

Aurodip was the youngest child. His two elder brothers and that of his sister all were married. His father was no more financially so sound .Being helpless insisted Aurodip to take admission in B.sc. Even his so called big brothers remain indifferent to this .Alas! with an optimist mind and strong determination took admission in  B.Sc. .In the mean time , took computer course .In these years he had prepared himself to stand on his own feet by giving tuitions to school children .This way completed three years of his graduation with good results. Immediately ,got himself engaged in a press .Within few years , had a considerable saving .On the other hand ,his parents were growing older, his matured mind very well understood his responsibilities. Aurodip shared his thought about doing MBA with his father and to his dismay   elder brothers turn a deaf ear   to his ambition .He hardly care such indifference attitude of his brothers as he had already lessened interactions with them since years .Nevertheless, with positivity moved ahead with the blessing of his parents ,started his journey to achieve a successful career.

Aurodip was already 25 yrs of age .He was unaware and ignorant of the facts he was going to face with his classmates who were too junior to him in age. Also had to face ample difficulties as he decided to continue studies along with his job. On the Orientation day itself one of his respected madam asked, ’What Aurodip at this age you thought of doing MBA? Will you be able to complete with regular classes? ”Aurodip just gave a smile on her words and on himself thinking of the ironies of his life .He started being irregular in attending classes. Unfortunately, one day became face-to-face with the Dean who standing on the corridor of his class shouted utmost rudely in a sarcastic way .It hurt Aurodip very intensely. As such   , he was a very emotional and also introvert guy. These words kept echoing in his ears. While returning from college the hard words broke him from within. The ocean of tears, deep within him; devoid the calmness and he burst into tears. Entering his room,  cried loudly, both hands covering his mouth. He didn’t   want to share this with anybody.

“Oh God! Give me a tight hug to stand this and control myself,” silently prayed to God. Aurodip sat calmly, nearly for an hour. Washed his face and started to pen-down his emotions. The inks of his pen has always helped just like a soul-mate in representing the thoughts of his inward mind with beautiful words to distress himself. This ornamental quality in him had inspired him to get engaged in the press works. Likewise, as he was staying alone in a mess near his office, it became a habit to convert his loneliness to words in his diary.

Days, week, month year gradually passed on. At last the most important and valid moment came in his life. The placement officer calls upon him. Trying to sway his negative thoughts, he entered into the room with a confident mind.

“Aurodip, you have a good academic performance no doubt and academically you are eligible for placement in reputed companies. But the only hurdle is your age ,” said Mr. Lalit with polished encouraging words.

“Yes Sir I know it; also was expecting such a thing. But Sir, want a personal favour; I am in need of a job very badly, kindly do talk to the recruiters for me. I shall give my best to the company,’said Aurodip politely.

“Yeah!  Sure, I will try my best to convince them. Don’t worry let’s hope for positive result, OK.I will let you know soon,” said Mr. .Lalit.

The calmness with in Aurodip reflected his mature mind and a determined optimistic man .In course of these two years of pursuing MBA; he has not interacted with his elder brothers and that of only sister. Even they have never enquired or tried to know about Aurodip as if he no more exists in their life. Aurodip used to visit his parents time to time but never shared his problems, pains intending all comforts in their lives.

With god’s grace, after much hustle and tussles, at last an appointment letter added the grandeur of rainbow to his colorless life. He felt being at the top of the world. All blockades, stress left his abode. The spread out smile on his bright face expressed his innate feelings. He left no rock unturned in displaying his efficiency to earn name and fame in the company.

All these flashed in his mind while lying on the bed .He gave a soft smile about these past days.

”Ha ha ha!! a hell and heaven difference those days and now .Each member of my family has come to visit me in my official quarters in Siliguri. Why this show off!!I have no feelings for them in my heart, I no more believe them. Why are they so concerned about my marriage? I have no faith in relationships”.

The day his brothers and sister visited him, he took a leave from office and has come to a picnic spot nearby. He wanted to avoid them intentionally.

In the mean time, the caretaker of the guest house enters his room with dinner .After a satisfactory dinner; he went for a sound sleep.

Breaking the silence the giant clock announced 5‘O’ clock, Aurodip while in sound sleep feels a soft touch on his head. He dreams of a glowing face showing thumbs up sign, slowly melts with the onset of dawn. Suddenly he wakes up searching for the heavenly touch. What’s this? What could have been this …?  God ? He immediately comes to the balcony. Feels refreshed with the cool breeze and inwardly hopes a new change in his life.

“Where were you, Chinu?” asked his elder sister Mili.

“Wow! All are close to us in good times “Aurodip thinks in the back of his mind.

Aurodip’s family members gathered to decide on a marriage proposal for him. Though reluctant, he moved ahead for the proposal with a renewed hope.
