Hello dears

Here is another instant write-up sharing with you all.

A HAPPY Beginning..☺                                                                            MALA ACHARYA

There was thick fog all around, just a pleasant winter morning .Wrapping the shawl of his grandma, Anmol was sitting in his balcony .Enjoying the weather, blowing the moisture from his mouth with an act of smoking cigar, a typical teenage habit. He was appearing calm, a bit too normal than he really is. But something was disturbing him at the back of his mind. No one answered, just turned a deaf ear to his queries by diverting to his studies and career. Just like any teenager, Anmol was waging a war within himself against elders. He was feeling frustrated at the behaviour and advices of his elders for considering him too young rather under age to interfere and handle responsibilities.

“Yup! Leave yaar. Let them do whatever they want,” Anmol consoled himself…….

It was already 8 a.m. He got ready for his school and was about to finish his breakfast, when again Kirti ,his mother started to vomit. He was very disturbed for this. Anmol ran to her.

“what mama? You are not well, still very careless. Why don’t you go for a medical check-up?”

“No… am fine…only have to check my Blood Pressure…and you being a responsible boy and stop arguing in small things,” replied Kirti entering into the kitchen to bring her a cup of tea.

Anmol followed her into the kitchen shouting,”

When children suggest elders it should never be accepted, but children are bound and compelled to accept and implement each and every word of elders. Hitler’s rule isn’t it?

“Now please don’t argue from the morning hours, you are getting late for your school. Go; see Aarushee is ready or not. Go in time or else both of you will miss the bus. Am perfectly alright, do not worry, Mere Anmol Ratan’ everything is fine with me,” told Kirti, patting Anmol. Anmol giving an angry look at her mother   walked up towards the gate.

Ok... …gentleman Anmolji, I’ll keep my word, will go for check up…is it ok now. You only be a good boy, subtract arguments, add patience to your nature, be a good listener and recipient to elders advice, then things will automatically be fine,” told Kirti bidding good bye to both her children.

Anmol was in std-IX and her sister Aarushee in Std-III. His mother, Kirti, since a few days was constantly vomiting. She has high blood pressure for which everyone were concerned.

After the school bus left, Kirti entered into the house. Mr. Anubhav Pradhan, father of Anmol was reading the newpaper.

“What today the bus was late or what?”Asked Mr. Pradhan taking a sip from the cup.

“No, it was in time, but Anubhav babu, another thing is that our son is getting matured and responsible,”said Kirti, with a smile.

“Why, what happened? Well it’s a good sign. You must be very happy; at least, after returning from office I don’t have to attentively listen to the list of complaints about his adamant nature. Well wish you a good day, Kirti madam.

“Hmmm…..Ok stop now, no need to give sarcastic comments. But, seriously have you noticed since last few days Anmol has become very   caring   towards me, returning from school in time  , not hanging around with friends. Isn’t it?”

“That’s good .Actually even am a bit tensed regarding your health .Let me today take half day leave and go for your complete medical   checkup. Even Anmol suggested the same two days back.”

“Yah!….that’s what am telling now. Since two and a half years, the boy who had been showing an indifferent attitude and arguing at every single word of ours, has become so caring. No more demands, no arguments, no stinging words. Really   strange!!!. Hope everything is fine with Anmol,” said Kirti, with a hint of surprise.

Whatever it may be, now you don’t ask me to get a bike for him. But he is right. You should immediately go for a medical checkup,” said Mr. Pradhan.

In school that day, Anmol informed Aarushee that he would return home with his friend Punya. He reached home late and found Aarushee alone at home. After 9.30 pm Mr. Pradhan rang home and told them that, they would be late so both should have dinner in time without waiting for them. It irritated Anmol again as nothing was told to them about the check up.

Mrs. and Mr. Pradhan returned home around 10.30pm.After they have finished dinner, Anmol asked ,”what about the reports, show me?”

“Nothing serious. Just everything is fine, asked to undergo a few more tests and has prescribed medicines,” replied Kirti.

Anmol not satisfied with the response of   her mother, went to his father.

Mr. Pradhan was holding the prescriptions and was searching about the few drugs prescribed by the doctor. The moment Anmol entered the room he became conscious and in a strange manner asked ,” What happened ? Go and sleep, it’s already very late.”

“Do not avoid, please let me know the truth. Is everything alright, Yes or No?,” asked Anmol.

Mr. Pradhan not able to avoid told,” they are expecting a tumor in brain. So,have asked for few more tests.”

Anmol’s face turned pale. Mr. Pradhan stood up hold Anmol’s hands tightly, control yourself, you need to be bold enough, she is ignorant about it , do not let her know this, unless confirmed, ok.”

“Haan…..Baba, I will keep it to myself and be careful,” said Anmol.

Next Day………..

“Oh God! What happened ?What are the teachers discussing? Have I failed or what? What will I do?Mama will again be worried about my studies .She is ill. She will die of shame for my poor results. Suddenly he wakes up…. ....opens his eyes. Thank GOD!! It was a dream. He was perspiring. The wall clock showed only 4.30 am.He felt suffocated and moved to the balcony, took a deep breath. Now he recalls the helplessness on his father’s face. A calmness prevails over him and strengthens him from inside. Standing up confidently, Anmol tells himself,”Everything have to be fine and perfect. It’s a  minor case in Medical science. She will be cured and perfectly alright.Oh God! I pledge myself “to think Right, be Right and do the Right thing in my life. Please help me; I want my mother ever with me.”

Anmol sits silently, tear rolls down her cheeks.

As the day starts, Anmol goes to kitchen to provide a helping hand to Kirti.

”Yes, mama what can I do for you? How can I help you? Tell me.

“Aare wah! So early and that too in kitchen, surprising!!. Hope the Sun has risen in the East only. What happened? worried about me so intensely? Am not going to die so soon until I see you settled in life, got me. So till that day I will keep on chasing you and you have to bear me,” said Kirti.

‘Why are you telling this way ? I understand and accept each of your words, only I was a bit immature in my behaviour that’s all “ told Anmol.

“OK …OK…….get ready, call Aarushee and have your breakfasts,” said Kirti keeping her tone as normal as she could.

Mr. Pradhan went to have the report and found to his dismay that, the report was positive and an immediate removal of the tumor was advised by the doctor. All of a sudden everything changed within a short span of two days. To avoid any delay in treatment Mr. Pradhan decided to take Kirti to Vellore and do the needful in the best possible way.

After 15 days of medication, Kirti was taken to Vellore. The circumstances taught Anmol the greatest lessons of his life. His Grandparents came to stay with them. Anmol managed everything very tactfully taking care of his grandparents and his sister. Every evening made video calls to his mother and gave assurance not to be worried. Nearly after one and a half months, his parents returned to find a much matured person within Anmol. Kirti was amazed to see Anmol managing all responsibilities along with his studies Annual Exam was over and the result was about to come. Anmol surprised all with his highest marks, by securing a position in his class.

An evening when Kirti was watering the plants in her balcony, Anmol prepared for her a cup of special masala tea.

“Mama, special tea for you. Come..taste it and tell me how is it?”Beamed Anmol with pride.

“Hmm……..well you have made it , so must be very special,” said Kirti, with a pleasant assuring smile on her face.

She took a sip of the tea. Anmol sat with her and shared his feelings and experiences as to how the tough times of the past days have made him realize his responsibilities and duties.

“Mama…. …may these hard days never come in our life again. Yah!…I understand your worries about me much better now. Friends are important but above all attachment with parents and their happiness is very essential for a happy-go life ahead.

Well said sunny…both Anubhav and Kirti complemented in unison.

They all smiled together.
